OtterlyAI is a credible, low-cost entry point for AI answer monitoring. It combines daily tracking, citation analysis, site audits, detailed reports, and unusually portable exports. For a solo consultant who wants to test a modest prompt set without making a large annual commitment, it may be the best fit in this guide.
An alternative becomes useful only when a different constraint matters more: multiple client workspaces, a broader enterprise workflow, an established SEO data stack, technical delivery, or a measurement method built around disclosed replication.
Disclosure and product update - September 10, 2026: Brandvane is our own product. Its SEO ($29/month) and Pro+ ($59/month) plans are live, with a customer workspace, paid research, and Markdown/CSV exports. Brandvane is narrower than a continuous multi-engine AI monitoring suite. Competitor facts below retain their August 28, 2026 review date; this update changes Brandvane facts only. See current pricing.
Vendor capabilities and public US prices in this guide were checked for the related GEO tools comparison on August 28, 2026. Plans change quickly; verify the live page before buying. “Not verified” means a capability was not clear in the public product or help pages reviewed. It does not prove the capability is absent from a paid account.
The short answer
Consider:
- Peec AI when raw-chat export, configurable model coverage, Looker Studio, and a documented log-upload workflow matter.
- Profound when a larger team wants monitoring, prompt research, analytics integrations, content workflows, and enterprise controls in one platform.
- Scrunch when technical page diagnostics and an AI-oriented content-delivery layer belong in the same operating system as measurement.
- Ahrefs Brand Radar when broad market and competitor discovery across a very large search-backed prompt index matters more than starting with a small custom panel.
- Semrush when AI visibility needs to sit beside an established SEO, content, competitor, and reporting stack.
- Brandvane fits solo consultants and small teams seeking quoted, on-demand SEO research, saved evidence, and separate fresh-AI checks inside a compatible assistant. It is not a continuous multi-engine AI monitoring suite.
Stay with OtterlyAI when its inexpensive Lite plan, daily cadence, PDF reports, and raw-answer, prompt, and citation exports match the work. Switching tools is not progress if it only replaces one dashboard with a larger one.
Start with what OtterlyAI does well
OtterlyAI’s pricing page listed Lite at $29 month-to-month or $25 per month with annual billing on August 28, 2026. The public plan included 15 prompts across four answer surfaces, daily tracking, unlimited team members, one workspace, citation analysis, audits, and detailed reports.
Otterly’s public documentation reviewed for the comparison also described CSV export for prompts and citations, CSV or JSON for raw answers, and PDF audit and brand reports across plans. That portability is materially useful: an agency can preserve raw evidence, build its own appendix, or leave the vendor dashboard without reducing every answer to a score.
Standard was listed at $189 per month with 100 prompts, unlimited workspaces, API and MCP access, Looker Studio, and Agent Analytics. Agent Analytics analyzes supplied server logs and categorizes crawler and agent activity. The public pages reviewed did not establish a native first-party GA4 human-referral report, so confirm that workflow in a demo if it is part of your requirement.
OtterlyAI is therefore a genuine good fit for:
- a solo consultant testing AI visibility monitoring for the first time;
- one workspace with a focused 15-prompt panel;
- a team that wants daily observations and strong export options; or
- an agency ready to buy Standard when it needs multiple workspaces, Looker Studio, API access, or crawler-log analytics.
The decision point is often not Lite’s entry price. It is whether the workload still fits at Lite, and whether Standard’s price and feature set remain competitive once several client brands, markets, and prompt clusters are active.
Peec AI: for configurable tracking and reporting plumbing
Peec AI’s pricing page described 50 prompts and three selectable models on Starter, 150 prompts and two projects on Pro, and 350 prompts, five projects, multi-country support, and Looker Studio on Advanced when reviewed. Peec’s own published setup material put Starter at about $95 per month, while the rendered live billing display could vary. That source presentation is not perfectly uniform, so confirm the price and billing term at checkout.
Peec documents raw chat export to CSV and a Looker Studio connector for visibility, citation, and chat data. Its Crawl Insights accepts a Cloudflare connection or uploaded log files and reports AI bot hits.
Choose Peec over Otterly when the selectable-model setup, reporting connector, or Cloudflare workflow better matches your delivery process. Otterly remains less expensive at entry and publicly documents more export formats across its plans. For either tool, ask how many responses support each metric, how failed runs are treated, and whether a prompt edit creates a break in the series.
Best fit: an agency that wants daily monitoring and a practical route from raw chats into a client-controlled reporting layer.
Profound: for a broader, well-funded operating platform
Profound’s pricing page listed Starter at $99 per month and Growth at $399 per month, both billed annually, on the review date. Starter listed 50 prompts and ChatGPT tracking. Growth listed 100 unique prompts, three answer engines, daily tracking, 9,000 monthly responses, and CSV and JSON export.
Profound’s scope extends beyond prompt monitoring into content and optimization agents, prompt-volume research, Answer Engine Insights, Agent Analytics, integrations, and an enterprise path. That breadth can consolidate tools for an in-house team or larger agency. It can also be more platform than a small consultancy needs.
Choose Profound over Otterly when the research, content, analytics, security, and enterprise workflow will be used together. Stay with Otterly when portable monitoring at a much lower entry price is the actual job. We did not find a public same-condition repetition rule for either vendor in the pages reviewed; ask to see the raw denominator and failed-run treatment before using a trend in a strong client claim.
Best fit: a team with enough program scale and budget to use a broad AI-visibility operating platform rather than a focused tracker.
Scrunch: for technical optimization and delivery
Scrunch’s pricing page listed Starter at $250 per month with annual billing or $300 month-to-month. It described 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, page audits, personas, citation tracking, agent-traffic monitoring, and broad answer-platform coverage.
The clearest difference is the delivery layer. Scrunch’s Agent Experience Platform is designed to serve an AI-oriented version of site content, while its audits and insights diagnose page gaps. That can suit a larger technical team that wants to move from observation into an active site-delivery workflow inside one product.
Choose Scrunch over Otterly when that technical delivery layer and higher-volume program are requirements. Choose Otterly when raw exports and a smaller, less expensive monitoring workflow are sufficient. Before buying Scrunch, ask how “agent traffic” separates crawler requests, user-directed fetchers, human referrals, and conversions, and confirm the export formats included in the intended plan.
Best fit: a larger organization that wants monitoring, diagnostics, observed agent activity, and technical content delivery together.
Ahrefs Brand Radar: for market discovery at index scale
Ahrefs describes Brand Radar as an index of more than 405 million search-backed prompts across seven AI platforms, with custom prompt checks available alongside it. The prompts are modeled from keyword and People Also Ask data. That makes the index useful for immediate category, competitor, and cited-source discovery.
It is also a different instrument from Otterly’s small custom panel. Search-backed prompts are a demand proxy, not a record of private assistant questions. Ahrefs documented $199 per month for one platform index or $699 per month for all platforms, with custom checks separately priced or included by plan on the review date.
Choose Brand Radar over Otterly when a large discovery index and the surrounding Ahrefs web and search data justify the economics. Use Otterly when the job is to track a controlled panel, inspect raw answers, and deliver reports at a lower price.
Best fit: an SEO team already able to use Ahrefs’ wider dataset and looking for broad market discovery before narrowing into custom tracking.
Semrush: for an established marketing stack
Semrush’s AI Visibility pricing started at $99 per month per domain with annual billing on August 28, 2026. The Base plan listed 25 custom prompts, daily tracking, competitor analysis, prompt research, and an AI-readiness audit. CSV export was available; scheduled, linked, and white-label delivery could require separate reporting add-ons.
Semrush’s advantage is adjacency. AI findings can live beside site auditing, SEO research, competitor workflows, content work, and existing client reporting. Its AI-readiness audit is not the same as a verified crawler request, and its separate modeled competitor-traffic product is not the same as first-party GA4 sessions.
Choose Semrush over Otterly when the agency already operates in Semrush and the integrated stack reduces reporting friction. Choose Otterly when an affordable dedicated tracker with broad raw-data exports is preferable to another domain-priced toolkit.
Best fit: a marketing team that will use AI visibility as one part of an established Semrush-centered service.
Brandvane: on-demand SEO and AI evidence
Brandvane offers on-demand keyword, domain, competitor, backlink, rank and audit research through its hosted MCP service and customer workspace. Recorded AI mentions use DataForSEO evidence; fresh checks use one sampled OpenAI API answer per question. The two evidence types and allowances are separate.
The live SEO and Pro+ plans cost $29 and $59 per month, with 900/2,200 SEO credits and 5/20 fresh AI checks respectively. Unused SEO credits carry forward during an active subscription; fresh AI checks do not. Pro+ supports the owner and one teammate. Both plans include Markdown/CSV exports and 90/365-day saved research retention.
Optional weekly Google ranking checks require explicit recurring approval and spend SEO credits. These are not recurring AI-answer checks. Current plans do not include an automated multi-engine AI panel, crawler-log ingestion, or white-label reporting. The methodology describes evidence standards, not a promise that every measurement lane is automated. The free traffic tool processes a supplied GA4 CSV in the browser.
Best fit: a consultant who wants bounded research with cost quotes and retrievable evidence. For continuous multi-engine prompt monitoring, automated log ingestion, or enterprise reporting, evaluate a tool that explicitly supports those requirements.
Compare the workload, not the homepage price
Before switching, write down one representative month:
- Number of active client brands and workspaces.
- Stable prompts per client, split by market and language.
- Answer surfaces and models required.
- Refresh frequency and any same-prompt replication requirement.
- Raw-answer, citation, CSV, JSON, PDF, API, or Looker Studio needs.
- Crawler-log and first-party analytics requirements.
- Seats, white-label delivery, and client-facing access.
- Monthly and annual cost at that exact workload.
Then ask every vendor to demonstrate one claim you intend to put in a report. Can you see the raw answers? Does the chart expose the completed-answer denominator? What happens to failed checks? Is “AI traffic” a crawler request, a human referral, or a modeled estimate?
For the evidence framework, see how Brandvane measures AI visibility. Automated weekly AI reports for ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews are coming soon; the planned reports will keep the two surfaces separate and show completed-check counts.
There is no universal OtterlyAI replacement
OtterlyAI is strongest here as an accessible tracker with a low starting price and useful evidence portability. Peec offers different reporting and log plumbing. Profound and Scrunch cover broader operating systems. Ahrefs supplies a discovery index. Semrush integrates with an established marketing suite. Brandvane is a narrower option for on-demand SEO and AI evidence.
Choose an alternative only when it solves a named constraint better. The right comparison is not which vendor publishes the largest feature grid. It is which instrument produces evidence you can defend at the client workload you can afford.
