Counted: AI-referred humans
A person clicked through from a recognizable assistant and GA4 recorded the session. This is the only event this browser tool measures.
See how much AI referral traffic already reaches your site—and which assistants sent it. Upload a GA4 Traffic acquisition export to analyze the channel in seconds. Your file never leaves your browser — everything is computed locally.
How to export: GA4 → Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition: Session source / medium → Share → Download CSV.
Local analysis only. Nothing is transmitted or stored.
The paid tracker opens with the founding cohort. Leave an email and you'll hear about it once.
What the number means
The report checks the Session source / medium text in your GA4 export for recognizable AI-assistant referrers. It counts source strings containing ChatGPT or OpenAI, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, Gemini, You.com, Poe, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral, Grok, or xAI. Gemini is included here only as a referral source recorded by GA4; it is not one of the engines Brandvane samples for answer measurement.

Bots that fetch or index a page generally do not create GA4 sessions. Crawler access requires verified server or edge logs, not an analytics export.
An assistant can mention or cite your brand without sending a click. Measuring that requires a disclosed prompt panel and repeated answer samples.
The boundary works in both directions: a referral proves that a recorded visit arrived, not what the visitor saw in the answer; and a missing referral does not prove that no assistant mentioned you. Privacy controls, untagged apps, and a later branded search can also hide an AI-influenced journey. Read how Brandvane keeps these three signals separate, or follow the complete GA4 AI referral traffic workflow for source strings, filtering, and bot-handling limits.
